Claravis
Claravis is a strong drug, prescribed to cure severe acne. Claravis cannot be prescribed to be used by pregnant women, or those, who are planning on becoming pregnant. This medicine can provoke some very dangerous consequences for health of the future baby. It can even put its life at risk.
That’s why women have to see a doctor and to ask for prescribing them two methods of birth control. Both birth control methods have to be reliable and strong. Women have to start using birth control pills or etc a month before acne treatment with Claravis. It’s important to follow both recommended birth control techniques at the same time, when you treat acne with Claravis.
If you breast feed a child, stop doing that while you use Claravis. The drug can easily pass into milk and your child might suffer badly.
Spontaneous miscarriages, and premature births can also happen if a pregnant woman uses Claravis. It’s better to consult a doctor any way as he can prescribe you exact drugs, which will be reliable, depending on your health condition and individual indicates.
When you read the drug guide, try to understand everything and if you have any questions, ask your doctor immediately. The pills mustn’t be crushed or chewed. It’s better to swallow them wholly. Also do not take Claravis inside without food. The effect will be decreased and it might cause some danger. After you take a pill with a glass of water, do not lie down for about 30 minutes. The terms of treatment are usually individual, but generally it takes 15-20 weeks to cure acne completely.
Don’t hurry up the treatment because the significant results might be noticed only after a month or two of using Claravis. However you might even notice that acne has worsened after you have just started the treatment.
In some cases doctors think that even second treatment course is needed. But it can only start after two months from the finish of the previous treatment course. Of course, remember that it’s dangerous to exceed the prescribed treatment period. And it can cause some serious consequences if you exceed the dose.
Be ready to suffer from some side effects as they occur mostly always. For example you can feel dry lips and mouth, minor swelling of the eyelids or lips, crusty skin, nosebleeds, indigestion, or thinning of hair. These are not dangerous symptoms of the side effects. But if those effects persist or worsen, phone or visit your doctor immediately.
If you experience any of the following: mental/mood changes (e.g., depression, aggressive or violent behavior, and in rare cases, thoughts of suicide), tingling sensation of the skin, sun sensitivity ("sunburn" effect), back, joint, or muscle pain, fever or other signs of infection, painful swallowing - you have to inform your doctor quickly. These side effects are more dangerous.
The doctors have been reported about frequent cases when use of Claravis has caused pancreatic disease (pancreatitis), which is not likely to be fatal.
As soon as you’ve noticed severe stomach pain, severe or persistent nausea/vomiting, severe headache, vision changes, ringing in the ears or hearing loss, dark urine or yellowing eyes and skin, severe diarrhea, rectal bleeding – you have to stop taking Claravis at all. The best thing to do is to contact a doctor and ask for an advice.
During the treatment period you have to avoid sunbathing and being in the direct sunlight. You also can’t donate blood when you cure acne with Claravis. As the vision might be affected, you have to avoid driving a car or working with some machinery, which requires a lot of attention and quick reaction.
